Retro Chic Shawl Collar Coat is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Retro movie star! I bought this a few months ago. Now that fall is here I'm so excited to be able to wear it. I have big arms and I'm size 1 (height 5.5) and this coat fits perfectly. The flower button is so feminine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I bought this coat about a month ago after reading reviews. Most of the reviews said to size up, however i sized up and am now having to have it tailored because it's much too big. If your store magically has it, i would try it on because it is very hard to tell what size you will need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Coat!! Very well made, love the plaid lining, however runs a little small, so it would be a good idea to size up on this baby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely stunning, but ... I ordered my usual size 3 in this jacket. I wish I had sized up. If you have even the smallest amount of "flab" to your arms, size up -- the arms were tight and I could not get the jewel to button. However, I absolutely LOVED the look of this coat. By the time I went to size up, all of the larger sizes were gone. Please bring this coat back, Torrid! It belongs in my closet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Classy LOOK!!! I just bought this coat! I was very impressed with the quality... its heavy enough to keep you warm, and light enough to not make you hot... the tailoring is very flattering , gives a classy look. I usually wear a size 2 at Torrid, but since I have big arms and needed more arm/back movement, I had to re-order it in a size 3. This coat does not stretch. So I recommend to size up one. I Love the Jackie O Look!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Coat! I bought this coat to go over my retro chic dresses that I bought from this site. Its is nice material, one button, pockets but you have to open them red plaid lined coat. It is true to size I wear a 0. It will go over work clothes or dress with a sweater. If it is a lot of layers to wear like bulky sweaters etc. I would up a size or get a different coat that buttons or zips up the front to salve off the cold. The coat is exactly the length of the retro dresses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Coat I am so happy I purchased this coat! The coat fits like a fit and flare coat and has pockets which were not noted in the description. I will be taking this coat with me to Europe and wearing it to work. I am a size 4 and was concerned about sizing, but the 4 fit very well. Please note there is only one button and there is no stretch to this coat. <3 this coat!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coat I've Ever Owned I just bought this coat. I was worried that it wouldn't be very flattering but I took a chance. So glad I did!!! I'm 5'9" and wear a size 18/20. It hugs you in all the right places. It hits me right at my knees and it makes my waist look super small! It's not super heavy, more like a medium weight. The fabric has some detail on it that you cannot see in the picture online. It does have pockets but you will need to use a seam ripper to open them when you first get it. The inside of the coat is plaid red and it only has one button to close it. If you're debating this coat just buy it! You won't be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful I love this coat, The only thing I wish it had was more buttons, it only closes with one button, it would feel better with three. I wore this to a Broadway show, it was perfect and warm enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs Small This is cute coat! I purchased it because I wanted to update my winter coat and wanted something this a flared bottom to cover my bum and hips. I am very pear shaped. This runs small, so I won't be able to wear it with everything.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really flattering Unlike a previous reviewer wrote, this coat DOES have pockets... They are just lightly stitched shut (this is true for a lot of garments). Cut the stitches and you'll be fine. It does run a little snug- I'm usually between a 2 and 3 and purchased this in a 3, but it is pretty fitted not enough to exchange though. And even though its a little snug at the waist it is insanely flattering. The rhinestone button is ugly and cheap looking, like it belongs on a barbie costume, but I knew when I bought it that I'd probably replace it anyways This coat also has a beautiful woven texture

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cute and comfy I usually wear a 2 in the shirts, 3 in the blazers and am pretty evenly built. No Apple. No pear. Just thick everywhere. I bought this in a three because there were no reviews when i ordered it. I would say that if it just had an extra inch in the waist it would close nicely. now it closes but at a stretch. There is only one button so I don't really think the coat is meant to be worn completely closed so it's not a big deal. The material feels really nice and it's well tailored. I would recommend it but wish it was something that could be tried on. Guess I'll have to loose a few lbs and it should be perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs very small I guess I should have waited for some reviews before ordering this coat. Overall it's really pretty and seems well made. However, I got it in a size 3, my regular size, and it is tight in the arms and does not button. Not sure if a 4 would be large enough. Sadly, they are out of 5. It would be nice if sizing for other brands were given separately. Size up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look Awesome I bought this coat a size bigger than what I normally buy at Torrid. I'm glad I did because this coat fits a size smaller. So if you order this coat, get a size larger than what you wear :) Other than that, the coat looks fabulous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stunning Coat I bought this coat online. I should always buy in store. I find that Retro Chic tends to runs a bit small and that is the case for this coat. It is a beautiful coat but runs small through the arms. Also, I am 5'3" and this coat is a bit long for me. Lining is beautiful. Overall a good looking coat with lots of retro appeal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cute ,and retro but ... Love this coat, but it runs super small . Almost 2 sizes . I normally wear a 4 in torrid tops 5 if I want them loose and over sized,so I got this in a 5 knowing I'd be wearing clothing under it . Well it barely fits . and its snug in the upper arms . My arms are not overly big ,so I've never had a problem with anything being to snug in the arms . I am however keeping it because they dont have a 6 in this . ill just have to make sure i wear thin and not bulky clothing under it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adorable coat Love the vintage look but was an awful fit. Fit really small on shoulders and too long for me at 5'3

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay I bought this coat because it was the nicest one available at the time. I usually wear a size 3 or 4 but I wanted a lot of room in this coat because of layering, so I went up to a five. The coat does fit but it's a bit tight in the upper arms, so if you have large arms like me beware. My other issue is that the one button just popped off. I can sew it back on but, really, I spent a lot of money on this so why was it so flimsy? Oh, and if you want to wear this in the freezing cold weather I suggest you wear a scarf. The collar is REAL low and exposes your chest. It looks okay and I love the lining. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it, and it IS very warm. I doubt I would buy it again though, given the issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful Coat Sizing is Way Off :( I love this coat very vintage looking just what I was looking for. Sadly there was no reviews ordered my normal size 1 (Not even close to fitting tight in arms and not even close to closing). I'm so sad because I really love love the style! Please bring more sizes back in stock and update description letting people know they should size up. This is the only thing I want for Christmas ! Thank you!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Dressy Coat This coat is great for when you are dressed up and still need to wear a coat. But it does run a solid one size small. I ordered three more jackets when I ordered this one. I got the others in a size 3 and this one in a size 4. It fits exactly like the size 3 coats. So much so that I wonder if it was mis-marked. But retro chic runs small in all stores (not just Torrid). I love the weight of the coat and the pattern of the fabric. I like the slight petticoat feel and the shawl collar. But I don't like the button at all. It cheapens the whole coat and isn't very secure (so I'm sure I will be needing to replace it in a few wears anyway). I also wish there was more than one button to secure this coat. It puts a lot of strain on the button and allows too much air in. As the fabric suggest that it is very warm but the lack of closure suggests that is coat is for show only. I jury is still out on this one. I got a great deal on it and it is very close in quality and look to the $250 alternative/backup I bought from Macy's. But the one button closure is a hassle and the coat seems a little long and overwhelming on me (I'm 5'7''). .
