Gingham Halter Swing Dress is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So cute So cute and a little comfy. A good twirling dress. I will agree that the pockets are a little high, but considering that most dresses don't have pockets, I am not going to complian. As far as the print not lining up, that is to be expected with a print like this. I noticed it when I was inspecting the photo on here and it did not deter me from purchasing this dress. The only issue I had was that it was to big in the chest area even with adjusting the ties and so I had to return for a smaller size. I get complimented on it all the time, even the skinny girls want to know where I got this dress. Lol

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very 50's dress! I love the style of this dress is classic 50's style of dress. It is a classic style that you can wear for years. Also I like that the halter top dress fit better than the other fitted dresses from Torrid. You can pair this with colored shoes for an accent color or go for plain black and white. It would be nice is torrid made some retro style top clasp purses to match the retro chick style of clothes. I am 5 4 the length of the dress on me is mid calf if your taller it would be higher of course. I like that the dress has proper flow and is not too tight in areas. It can work with varying chest sizes bc of the halter style with a strapless bra. Got many compliments on the dress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many compliments This dress is fun and flirty and I feel so cute in it. The only negative is that the bust area is a bit small. I have a smaller bust for my frame so it wasn't a problem for me, but it may be a difficutly for others. Luckily, it does look cute with a cami underneath so no worries!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just adorable I bought this a few weeks ago as a reward for myself. It's swingy retro and perfect. The little pockets are a great plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gingham Galore! I bought this dress because I really love Torrid's retro dresses, and the retro halter dresses. I wasn't too sure I would like it, as I'xe never had ANYTHING gingham before. But it's really cute, it fits well and is flattering; so it's really grown on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sooo in Love! I absolutely adore this dress! It's perfect for (business casual) work and can be dressed up for a quick work-to-date/evening look. So I paired this dress with a little red shrug, and I didn't notice any issues with the pockets. The length was perfect (just a smidge above the knee (I'm 5'10") on me). My biggest complaint was that the top was a tad too loose (I'm a 44G), although it didn't seem to be at the start of the day. Easy enough solution to tie it again, but I was working, not noticing it until five.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So cute! I agree that the pockets sit a little funny, but I love having pockets in my dresses so I'm still happy with it! It could just be me and my really wide hips that create the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I just received this today and love it. I wear an 18 in dresses but purchased the 20 (stomach issues) and due to it being a halter I can adjust for the fact I am a 44C cup but would hazard to say if you are very large chest it does provide ample stretch. The material has nice weight to it and overall very nicely made. Can't wait to wear it. Love.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Retro chic I bought this in summer thinking it would translate well for both work and play. It is very retro and sexy. It is hard to find a bra that works well with the cut - it either shows in front or back. I ended up wearing a crop sweater with it. The fabric is very full and flowy. I love the pockets - it's always a nice added bonus to have a dress with pockets. I received several compliments!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect! I bought this dress a few weeks ago and for the most part I love it. The fabric doesn't hang as well as I'd like and the pockets stick out funny. That being said, I LOVE that it has pockets! I think wearing it with a jacket or sweater will fix my small problems with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty, But It Has Problems I agree that the pockets are oddly placed. They won't lay flat and they do disrupt the A line look of the dress. Still, it's pretty and I think wearing a shrug might tamp the pockets down a little. I'm undecided about whether or not I'm returning it. The look of it is great, but the pocket situation might ruin it. Also, while I'm being picky, it sinks in farther at the waist than other Torrid dresses. With spanx on this might not be an issue, but without something to hold me together it appears tight on my waist. This is strange in light of the new sizing policies where the sizes are a supposed to be a little larger than normal. I've always been a size 4 at Torrid, so I don't know why this dress would be an exception.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awkward pocket placement. I wanted to like this dress. It was comfortable, the fabric was breathable and had just enough body that it draped nicely, the hem was the perfect length, but there were two issues with the dress that bother me enough to send it back. The first is that the gingham pattern of the fabric does not line up as nicely on the seams as the dress pictured online, and it looks odd. Is it something that a passerby will notice? Probably not, and it may have just been the dress that I happened to receive. The other issue (and ultimately the reason I am returning the dress) is the pair of slant pockets that sit on the waist, just below the bodice, at the narrowest part of the skirt. The pockets do not lay completely flat, and it changes the silhouette of the dress so that it looks like my waist is wider and rounder, instead of the A-line silhouette I had been looking forward to. It may look different on someone with a different body type than I, and it was comfortable to wear, but I did not like the dress enough to keep it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not me Something about the rise of the bust did not work on my 5'9" 40G frame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Like another reviewer, my patterns did not line up. The empire underbust portion is at an odd angle along with the bottom part of the dress. Too distracting from the overall look. Also, while the dress is itself cute in concept, but not as much swing as other torrid swing dresses, pockets further cut into that. And while the front of the dress fits perfectly, the back bubbles out oddly as if there is just too much fabric. I feel like I've purchased an irregular garment, and this will definitely be returned.
