One of my favorite pieces!I bought this 2 ish years ago? And when I saw it made a come back I knew I had to order it in black. I saw this had such a low rating and knew I had to put in a review because this really IS so nice. Stains easily come out, the fabric and elastic has held up very well with wear and wash. I wear this baby a LOT! The tag says dry clean only, but if you do what the other reviewer said and wash cold on a delicate cycle and then only dry for about 10 minutes and then let it hang dry it’s fine as far as washing goes. If you’re just getting wet at the beach? I’ve never experienced permanent shrinkage. If the dress is absolutely drenched, the crepe fabric naturally shrinks when wet. But the weight and wear of the dress and how light the material is allows for a quick dry. I’ve worn this successfully as a cover and as a normal dress (wear a slip!) and I always get compliments. If you don’t like the wrinkled look, this might not be for you. If the harder wrinkles bother you, you can steam them out. But I like the ‘fresh out of the suitcase’ feel to this look. Add some waves to your hair and it’s a bop! The only full body photo I have of this dress is from when I got it, but it’s true to size, the arms are stretchy and do not cut into your skin. You have full range of motion. You can definitely wear this as a regular dress but do keep in mind the hem is higher on the thighs on the side. When the wind hits, it’s a total Marilyn moment. I love this cover up. (Shoes are also torrid - 2 years ago)

Beautiful!I have several of these similar made into a dress and as long as you cold wash, in a tightly meshed lingerie bag, delicate cycle or even regular short cycle, then dry for 10 minutes or less and hang to dry. Might need to steam if worried about wrinkles, but I love this style dress. It’s flattering and covers enough for pool or beach time or whatever. If you want beautiful things, sometimes you have to take care of them properly. If you’ve never had to go through this, it’s frustrating that first time it shrinks but you can’t hot wash or warm wash, more do you need to, on your clothes. I have stuff from Torrid and other retailers that has lasted 10 yrs or more. You just have to learn what to put in the mesh bags, I put any dress like this or the chiffon or challis ones. I put all my bras, bralettes, and underwear in them. The only way I’ve ruined anything lately is having too hot of an iron for a mesh and velvet shrug that was my fault. My fiancé had just passed away and I wasn’t thinking. Dry clean only isn’t always necessary. I’ve washed jackets and everything from Torrid. They make some intricate items, so if you want it to last, just learn how to take care of it. You can use your regular detergent and softeners, just don’t put it directly on a white item if it’s blue lol We all have to learn the hard way. Sorry this is so long but people knock items for the way they took care of it. One thing my mom did right is teach me about how to preserve my fav stuff! Peace and love to all!!

“Wash Cold; Dry Low!”I’m not sure what you folks are talking about, but why would you buy a bathing suit cover-up that couldn’t be machine washed? I see an adorable white gauze “cover-up” that states how it should be taken care of. If it wasn’t written that way when you purchased it, why didn’t you ask a customer service representative?! The reason why I am asking is because I’m really confused...I don’t think that I have *ever* left a pool, lake, or ocean 100% dry, as an adult or a kid. And I know that I have been rained on and therefore, out of the pool and/or beach, way more times than I want to think about, so, does it make sense that someone would make a swimwear cover-up that could not get wet?
By the way, if anyone is interested, I try to keep the lines/wrinkles in my gauzy items. I twist the material along the lines of the folds. And if possible, I will even try to wash the article tied in a loose knot within a mesh bag. The knot seems to help the material stay twisted...I never put it in the dryer, because I never dry anything that can shrink or fade. Once I have finished washing it, I just take it out of the bag and make sure that the item is still twisted, before I place it across a couple of bars on a drying rack to start drying.
I have this item in my cart. I have purchased many gauze pieces from Torrid in the past, especially caftan-like items and various summer wear pieces.

a non washable cover up??This is beautiful, however the instructions state dry clean only.
Obviously it got wet from my swim suit and shrunk.
