Flattering
I bought this a month ago for an event and received so many compliments. It was such a flattering a comfortable dress. Loved that it even had pockets! I’m usually a 1 in shirts and 2 in bottoms. Went with a 1 and it fit great.

Think I got lucky
I think I might've gotten lucky. I didn't have any of the the sleeve/wrist issues people commented about. Unstretched, the wrists on my dress were 6" and the sleeve length hit me perfectly. I'm not tall, either, only 5'2". Because of my height, it's more of a maxi on me than midi, but I pretty much count on that when I buy midi dresses. The color is more of a dark orange and brown, but it's perfect for the fall. I tend not to buy surplice tops because they gape on me (I'm only a C-cup), but this fit just right. Because it's fully lined and heavier as a result, this is most definitely a colder weather dress for me.

Pretty dress, kinda heavy
I got the black & white one, it is a little bit heavier than I'm used to but I really liked the cut of the neckline and the length of the dress. I found it fit me very well.
I do think it would be better to wear in the fall/cooler weather because I was SWEATING lol.

I really like this dress. Out of the bag it looked meh. On it’s really pretty and flattering. I have long arms and the arms are just right for me. I do feel it runs slightly large and I could size down but then I’d chance the arms being too short. I got a 0, the elastic waist makes it where I could have done a 00. I got a lot of compliments on the outfit shown in the photo including the shoes.

Great if you’re tall
I saw people saying in other reviews that this dress would only work on tall people due to its overall volume and sleeve length. I am 6’1”, size 2, and I am very pleased with this dress and its proportions. The neckline is a surplice that is constructed so that it actually covers my cleavage. (Not that there is anything wrong with a wrap or surplice top that shows cleavage, but it’s very rare to find one that doesn’t and if you have a larger chest, things can get very plunging very fast!)

Perfect dress
So often I buy dresses like this and my boobs are hanging out. This one managed to cover me up well without being frumpy. It fits so so well. If you're not busy, I would suggest sizing down as the waist is a shade big. I can deal with it though, to have proper chest coverage. I almost can't wait for fall so I can wear this. As soon as torrid cash starts, I am buying the orange colored print and will probably buy this dress in any color/print they come out with.

I love this dress but it’s too long so only 4 stars. I ordered size 2 by mistake. Didn’t even try it on and ordered size 3. It was crazy big. Like 3 sizes bigger so I tried on the size 2 and it was fab. When I took the size 3 to the store to return it the assistant said that Torrid are trying to rework their sizing. For example the elastic cuff went from fitting to being 3” bigger for 1 size difference. Torrid need to look at dress length as well. Not all of us are giants!

Sleeves need work
This is a great dress and a great autumn colour. With the lining it is a heavier weight than described. It sits nicely and the empire waist is flattering, however being a larger lady doesn't mean the length of my arms are in proportion to my size - the sleeve length is unwearable and I have had to have this altered, as I got the dress on sale this was okay, but paying if paying full price I would be sending it back. Torrid please check this in your designs, it's the 4th time it's happened to me and does make me question future purchase with a similar sleeve style.

I loved this dress. Felt so comfortable in it which is rare because I often feel awkward in dresses. The length was perfect on me (I’m 5’5”) The only negative was the arms were too long and the elastic for the wrist is too big. I just pulled the sleeve up and got the same effect as in the picture but not at the wrist. I’ll eventually get that fixed.

I bought this dress in my regular size. (Size 1) It was very heavy and ran big with a lot of extra material. So, I bought another one in a size 0. It fit better but was still heavy and just not flattering. I’m all about keeping “the girls” tucked in but something about this neckline (the V) being so high made the dress seem frumpy. I’m 5’8 and it simply wasn’t flattering.

Its a beautiful dress and I love the silhouette other than the waist is under the bust rather than at the natural waist. I had to return it because it is not flattering for an hourglass. Love the print, construction and fabric otherwise

The only reason this is getting 2 stars is for the style... the length of the dress and the long sleeves were both fantastic. Sadly, nothing else about this dress was good. For starters, the material was heeeeavy. Even in winter, this would have been too much. The type of material they used was also very unflattering. It caused the pattern to appear very faded, which gave the dress an old-timey, frumpy appearance that looked nothing like the photos. I wish they would make more dresses in this style, but with better material and less heavy lining.

Huge heavy dress with ridiculous measurements. Not only is the dress easily 2 sizes too big, but the sleeves are super long and the elastic at the wrists is so wide they are wider than my entire hands so you cannot wear it at your wrist. They flop over your hands. The fabric is very heavy and the pattern looks faded up close. I bought it on clearance and cannot return it. Do not buy this dress unless your wrists are ten inch circumference and your arms are three feet. And be sure to size down two sizes. I really don’t even recommend it. It’s not flattering at all. I bought my usual size 3.

You need to have a tall frame for this dress. With the length, the TOO LONG balloon sleeves, the WAY too large openings a the wrists and the ruffles, this dress can easily overwhelm and make you look like a big blob.
The openings at the wrists (which were elastisized) were about 10 inches, unstretched. I don't know a single human being with wrists that large. Why put elastic on a garment where there's NO CHANCE for it to work. Torrid is "finishing" more and more of their sleeves this way and the only explanation I can think of is cheapness.
The fabric (like everything Torrid sells) was cheap.
I cannot recommed this dress to anyone.

Really want to love
This is a wonderful dress, however, the sleeves ruin the entire dress. The wrist are large and I don't know anyone who has a wrist so large. I would not buy this at full price. I may keep the red and fix the sleeves, but will return the black.
I would love for this to be remade with sleeves you dont have to tailor.
As for fit, this is true to size.
