Outlander Claire Button Coat is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite purchase of 2018 I love this jacket and the way it moves! Like other posters, I appreciate the bones or cut of this jacket. I especially love the small gather at the lower back in exactly the right place. Whether I have it thrown on over a hoodie, or with work clothes for my next meeting, the compliments don't stop. I normally wear a 3 in Torrid jackets and found this fit well, even with a 3XL men's hoodie underneath, still nice and roomy thanks to the cut. Without, and only sheer work clothes, I do prefer adding in my crocheted 3/4 sleeve layer and a scarf, because, well...Canada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, functional - great bones So far, this has been a surprisingly adept farm coat, I've worn it every day since it arrived, and I'm thrilled by it. I love the stretchy arms, the give in the bodice, the fact that though it's long, the buttons only go to the waist. I'm a dog trainer and I work with horses and the way this coat is configured, it gives me access to my treat pouch and allows me to mount a 17 hand horse without taking it off and putting it back on. And the pockets, gosh, I love having the double pocket that so often pulls me towards men's coats - space for my stuff in the front, a warm place for my hands behind that. It's also beautiful and heavy. I feel pretty Outlandish in my tack boots and my new coat, even if my moors are in the hills of the San Francisco Bay Area and not in the Scotland. No, the material is not soft and plush, but because I have a t-shirt and a thick sweater between the coat and I, and I don't button it up to the throat because I am a shortnecked toad, I haven't felt the itchiness to be a problem. The material feels that it will hold up for years and will wipe clean enough, and if it doesn't, no matter, it's marled gray green blue color that already seems impervious to the mud and funk associated with my job. HOWEVER, first thing, I reinforced the buttons. Please, if it all possible, do that before you ever wear it. Factory made clothes often have some weak spot and for this coat, it's the buttons and they are lovely and heavy and it only comes with two replacements. If I lost, and could not replace, a button, I would be sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I cannot wait to wear this everywhere I was on the fence because I usually don't buy coats this expensive. But I am so glad that I took the chance for this outlander coat. It's beautiful and I ordered a 1 instead of a 0 since I like to have room for sweaters. I could wear a 0 if I wanted it to be true to size and fit like a shirt. But Other than that I absolutely love it and I want to go find myself a horse and ride in Scotland wearing this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! I am a size 8 normally so I ordered the 10. Wish it was offered in the smaller sizes through HT. It’s soft and roomy and so Outlandish. Thank you for a Season 4 Claire coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This coat makes me happy I am a huge fan of the show but am behind a season so I don’t know if this is meant to look like a civil war coat but to me it makes me think of that era. It has such an old but classic vibe perfect for every day or cosplay. This might be the best purchase I’ve made ever. This coat makes me happy and is so comfortable. The fit is true to size with lots of room even if you have big shoulders like me. The fabric is soft and flexible and feels so good on and the pockets are spacious. I got this in a 1 and 2 and my size 2 fits perfectly. The 1 fit but couldn’t close yet I love this coat so much I am keeping both when my weight fluctuates. It doesn’t cut the most flattering figure on my apple shape but I just LOVE this coat like crazy! I think everyone should get it and I hope Torrid releases more coats of such high quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sooo pretty! I am in love with this coat! I definitely get Claire vibes when I wear it. The fit is amazing, managing to have adequate room for my boobs, is not tight around my arms, and flatters my figure. It is perfect for the slightly chillier fall weather. My only complaint is that the buttons feel a bit cheap, especially for the price. Now all I need is a Jaime to sweep me off my feet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cute, but not warm The coat is super cute and has a nice flare bottom part. I am fairly tall (over 6 feet) and the proportions work for me and I think they would work for shorter ladies too. On me the shape is similar to a baby doll dress. The coat his me about mid thigh and should be closer to knee length for most. The underside of the arms is a stretch material making this super comfortable even while driving. The lining is wonderful and well stitched. On me the sleeves are a tad short, but the cuff is not sewn all the way around and I was able to shorten the cuff, thus making the sleeves about an inch and a half longer in 5 min flat, by hand with little sewing skills. Now for the not so great: the description made it sound like this is a winter coat. It is not!!! I live in the Pacific Northwest West and fall here is in the 50s or high 40s with some drizzle. It is a good weight for that if you have a sweater under. I don't think it will be warm enough once the temps drop below 40s. As this works for me for 6+ months out of the year, I decided to keep it. It is truly very pretty and I have worn it with dress pants and jeans already and it looks very stylish with both.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not durable I ordered this coat on Black Friday 2018. I'm writing this review 1.16.2019. The coat looks worn and a button has fallen off. I work and office job and dont do anything in the coat except drive, go to work, and pick up kids from school and daycare. I expected a lot more for the "original" price and the clothe arms make it look cheap. I love Outlander and this does not do the show justice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great for the cold and so itchy! Bought this online and when I got it the under part of the arm is not wool like the rest of the coat. It’s like a thick swim suit fabric. It’s cold to the touch and the air goes right through it. If you live anywhere that snows I would not recommend this coat. I wore it out in 35 degrees and I was really cold. The collar is supper itchy on the neck and honestly that was the deciding factor for me. I had to return it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I paid $100+ for a confederate soldier’s coat. I got this in the mail and I loved it at first until I (actually my African American friend) realized that it looks like a long confederate soldier’s jacket… When you get the coat it is not ‘blue’ it is a lighter shade of charcoal grey with a herringbone texture. This fact mixed with the shape of the collar… You be the judge. Torrid what were you thinking?!?!? I guess the joke is on me for not seeing the resemblance in the first place. $100 down the drain… also it (as you can see below) is a bit larger than a usual Torrid size 1.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a disappointment ! The coat looks adorable in the picture and when wearing it. What I don’t like is the fact the the sleeves are half T-shirt material. There is no warmth to this coat what so ever live the pictures and descriptions would lead you to believe. If one is into cosplay or era dressing this coat would be good for that.
