When I first bought these they felt a little sitff. I was actually happy because I thought, finally lace my thumb won't go through and rip on the sides when pulling them up. I love them but they do rip on the sides if you have sort of fingernail. I keep mine super short and it still happened. If they could make this with a regular closed side and not lace it would help. I still love them but I hate the rips in the lace.
