I was more than thrilled when they released the app. Unfortunately I cannot say I have been thrilled with it since then. I held off on reviewing for a long time in the hopes it would get better, but it hasn’t. From horrible loading screens to a cockeyed organization of the products, it would be easier to order online than through the app. I want to like the app, but it has to fix some major bugs, including but not excluded to: actually opening when you open it, loading, remembering you are logged in, having pictures of the products, not repeating the products multiple times, not loading some of the products in at all, placing products in the wrong category (argue with me how a jean jacket is leggings!), not backing you out when you are looking at products, not having the page glitch when you open the app or any of the pages therein, actually putting a product in your cart, ordering the right product when you checkout (ordered brown leggings and a brown cami last year, got two brown leggings)... I could keep going but I am getting long winded. Again, I have resisted complaining for a long time, but enough is enough. I would actually like to be able to use the app and enjoy it, not wonder if looking at an item will cause the whole thing to freak out or glitch.
There was an issue with an exchange and Celine almost completely fixed it. However we were disconnected and I got ahold of Brooke; However it started off ugly where I was almost charged full price for an exchange for the same jean different size. I had to explain the policy as I originally did not pay full price for the jeans the sz was too small and I was exchanging it for a bigger sz. It stares we can do the esxchange via phone and pay just the shipping. It didn’t happen at first and to fix it I was almost accused of lying. I invested too much in a Torrid to give up and I worked in CS for almost 30 years and I have a Masters in business that allows me to train this type of service. So when I had to give a solution and be told I was wrong Tortid almost lost a loyalist VIP customer. Brooke was able to spk to someone and fix the issue. Thank you Brooke for believing me and seeing my order. And Celine for trying. Torrid give your representatives empowerment so they can do their jobs better and not leave orders open ended for confusion. Change policies and go by your word. Thank you
I can log in online on the site but the app is having trouble logging in. Other than that, before I was logged out with the newest update, I did enjoy the app, especially the scanner portion. It’s incredibly helpful in finding a colorway and looking to see if something else with a great cut for you also comes in another colorway you like as well or even prefer. Also, if you are like me, sometimes you only have time for a few minutes of phone shopping and this app greatly helps with that issue. I really enjoy the convenience, especially if you like holiday shopping but aren’t keen on holiday traffic and want to say watch a movie at the same time as you are shopping or for me, am baking away for others and you want to spend those 20 minutes or 8 minutes finding an outfit for a holiday event or need a new pair of pants or a shirt asap. You can easily just order for in store pickup or see if a top is available in certain stores around you. I once messed up a lilac cardi with food that wouldn’t come all the way out without ruining the integrity of the item from Torrid and I used the app to find another around me before my grandmothers birthday luncheon the next day. So anyways, Please Please, fix the log in issue with the app.

Die hard Torrid fan girl here. Shopped here for years and years, spent god knows how much. Believe me when I say this app is the most frustrating thing ever. If you are the type of person who clicks on the pictures to see them full screen this app isn’t for you. It refuses to load them and it white screens and there is no back button or anything to get out of the loading screen so you have to close he entire app and do your search all over again. Even when I tell myself not to click on the pictures I sometimes hit it while I’m scrolling and have to close the app again. Smh. Also, in the orders tab, if you wanted to look up one of the things you bought, it’s just a list with words. No link to the listing, no picture to indicate which black tee you bought just will say the price and numbers and what not. Dumb that it wouldn’t link to the item listing like every other site. Also, this isn’t a requirement but it would be nice if you could filter down to the exact styles like you can on the torrid website, for example they let you filter down to 3/4 sleeve or sleeveless or whatever you want. Gave 2 stars because I like torrid but it’s just really frustrating when you have to start your search all over when you click on a picture.
Love Torrid and the Torrid style - this store has changed so much for the better over the last decade. And the app is very nice. The look and feel, user experience are all top notch. I love too that I can manage my credit account within the app - most stores don’t have that app integration with their credit card and it makes it much more of a hassle. The app is generally easy to use and reliable. Only issue I’ve ever had is with favoriting items, sometimes the little ♥️ button won’t stay clicked or something, and I have to keep pressing it to make it register my favorite. And sometimes it won’t register it no matter how many times I click it. A bit irritating but I just end up adding those items to my cart and then save them for later on my desktop computer when I log in there. Would make it pretty perfect to fix that bug, but overall an awesome app for an awesome store.
So, most of my in-store shopping experience are to order stuff thru them, instead of the app, bc 1) the sales associates keep track of things like how much their sales are that day; &2) because the app never works like I need it to. However, I recently had an issue where I meet the qualifications for a promotion, but not only does the promotion doesn't get applied to my account... but I need pertinent information in order to reach out to customer support and get it fixed. And I can't get that information because the app has decided to crash every time I try to get into my orders. If this was a once or twice thing, I'd be less upset. But it seems like every time Torrid Cash rolls around, the app *bleeps* the bed, & it doesn't get fixed until a week before the next Torrid Cash event.What even is the point of having an app when it's broken more times that it's functional?The clothing is still great, & I'll keep shopping there. But their website & app desync, the app crashing if you breathe on it too hard, & the orders not registering for promotions is making me question who is running the IT department at HQ.

I’m a Torrid frequent flyer who just used the app for the first time. MUCH easier than navigating the website from my phone! The only thing I found to be a little confusing was checkout. I couldn’t figure out where to add my credit card info. There is a blank field beneath “Gift Card” to enter a number of you’re using one, but nothing under “Payment” to Enter a credit card. (I was logged into my account... not sure if that makes a difference.) I finally tried tapping on the the word Payment and got a pop up where I was able to select my saved CC or enter a new one... Smooth sailing from there.If you’re a plus size woman and haven’t yet shopped Torrid, be sure to check them out. I have a closet full of their clothes that look like they were tailored to fit me! For the most part, clothes are true to size, so once you know your size, you can easily shop online. If something doesn’t work, the return process is very easy. (However, note that you get your money back immediately if you return to a store, but it takes about 3-4 weeks if you return using their enclosed, pre-paid shipping labels.)
I waited a long time to rate in hopes that this app would get better but I guess I better not hold my breath!!! My biggest issue with this app is the “manage your credit card” section, page won’t remember my login info, when I manually input my info and try to log in, I can’t, I get an unsecure connection message. Thought maybe it was my phone but spent about an hour with apple trying to figure it out they finally stated it wasn’t my phone, which I have to agree this is the only app that gives me this message. But back to my complaint, so I can’t use the app to check my account have to use the internet. App rewards info doesn’t match online account, VIP member but i order through the app I have to pay shipping, called customer service they told me I had to go online. When looking at clothes it would be nice to look at an item go back and pick up where I left off but no, you go back and it takes you all the way to the top and I then you have to scroll until you find the last item you looked at and hope you didn’t pass it. This app almost feels useless, if I have to go online anyways, what’s the point in having it taking up space on my phone? 🤷🏻♀️👎🏼
