cute top and skirt set
I bought this a month ago and it is the cutest thing ever. I had to size down for the top to fit correctly. I usually wear a 1 and had to go down to a 0. I also bought the matching skirt and had to go down two sizes because it is very full.

has potential, overpriced
i wanted to love this, it looks so cute in the photos! but two major issues. firstly- the price is much too high for such a small piece of clothing that isnt very complicated construction wise. the scallops are cool, but its a draped dish cloth sized piece of fabric with a dart. even on sale, whew! no way, especially being a mid fabric. i would grab it on super sale but even with torrid cash i would need to be in love with the fit to feel like it was worth it.
most importantly: something is funky about the fit. im usually a size 1 in torrid tops, and im not very busty so sometimes i can size down. from the front the size 1 looks like it fits well, its a loose cropped fit without being extremely oversized. but from the back i get almost no overlap, the whole back of my bra shows and it looks like its barely covering! on the model is still clear it would show bra, and i was fine with a hint, but she has much more overlap which i like the look of. im nearly naked in the back, much closer to the one review's photo here. i had hoped that my being small chested would alleviate that, but i think its just cut too small in the back. id need a size or two up to get that overlap, which would be both too big and loo long, and probably look sloppy instead of relaxed.
maybe if you can try this in person and get a great sale its worth it, but im sending it back.

I can't tell if this is actually too small or if it's just a terrible cut on my body shape. It might be ok for mid-size but if you're busty and plus-size, this isn't the one. I thought this would be a cute little number layered over the matching button down with the matching skirt (both of which I LOVE btw, reviews pending), but it just doesn't fit right. I tried it over a thin white t shirt and it's still a no. It's so dowdy and matronly looking from the front and the back is full-on hospital gown. Not for me.
