AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES IT LOOKS AS IF THEY ARE TIGHT AROUND MY FEET, BUT THEY AREN'T. IT HAS AN ELASTIC PART UNDER THE TOP STRAP WHICH DOESN'T BOTHER ME AT ALL. IF ANYTHING I FEEL THAT THE ELASTIC PART THERE WAS A GOOD IDEA. I ORDERED THESE IN A SIZE 6 SINCE THAT'S MY SIZE IN TORRID SHOES EXCEPT FOR THE RUNCHED SNEAKERS I'M A (6 1/2). IN NON TORRID SHOES I'M A SIZE 7. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THEM, THEY LOOK AS IF THEY RUN SHORT. I FEEL COMFORTABLE IN THEM THOUGH WHICH IS WHY I DIDN'T SIZE UP HALF A SIZE. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THAT, SO YOU CAN SIZE UP HALF A SIZE IF YOU LIKE. ALSO THEY DO STAIN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FEET BLACK DUE TO THE MATERIAL. I ALSO FOUND THEM TO BE SLIPPERY FROM THE BOTTOM. WHICH IS WHY I STICKED SLIP RESISTANT PADS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SANDALS. OVERALL I DO RECOMMEND THESE SANDALS. I SUFFER FROM PLANTER FASCIITIS ON BOTH FEET AND MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS (USE A CANE) AND I FOUND THEM TO BE COMFORTABLE.
