This piece incorporates the casualness of a poncho, paired with lace details that take it up several notches allowing it to be dressed up! I loved this so much I ordered a few as gifts for friends/family and I did not notice any odd odour or chemical smell as mentioned in another review...thankfully! I feel bad for that person :(

I had been hoping to find a dressier poncho and this black lace fit the bill. It's thin, light, and will be perfect for summer months not to mention feminine and pretty. Mine didn't have a smell. I hope Torrid makes more dressy ponchos like this in colors like fuschia or cobalt blue.

But I know a lot of times black dye does tend to smell and that true with ant retailers. But this is one of my favorite pieces. Great way to dress up a pair of jeans
