The velvet is plush And what you may not see on like is the embossed damask tone on tone pattern which makes it look really rich and expensive. I normally wear a 1 which is what I ordered. I would have probably sized up to a 2 because its a little “boobish” because of the “wrap look”.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous dress I bought this dress to go to the ballet at Lincoln Center. This dress is stunning. Not too heavy but will keep you warm. Plunging neckline. The material is soft and well made but I don't think it will last more than one season. I got it for a great deal so I'm OK with that. :) The only thing that I didn't like were the pockets. They ruin the line of the dress. I don't plan on using them so hopefully it won't stretch out. Great for a casual Holiday party\outing but nothing formal.

It's pretty sturdy, so you definitely won't be cold even if you live in a chilly climate. I paired mine with black tights, booties, and a statement belt, and it was just perfect for my company's Christmas party.

I went with a size 3 because I didn’t want the surplice neckline to be too revealing. Fits fine - a little on the big size and I would Have probably been fine with the 2, but not enough to exchange. i’m 5’10 and it hits a bit above my knee.
