It is made from a very soft, stretchy, breathable, wrinkle resistant material and I can see why some reviews compare it to pajamas or t-shirts, but I think it's a perfect combination of comfort and style. I wouldn't necessarily say that it runs large so much as it stretches and can appear larger due to that. I tried my usual 2 sizes and ended up keeping the smaller one. I wish this item was available in long, regular, and short lengths. A lot of reviews talk about how it is much too long, but for average or taller, I feel it loses a bit of its drama. Still gorgeous, but could be that much more "mistress of evil" if it fell closer to the floor and flowed more cape like.

On me it is fitted around the arms and chest, and flares out right above the belly button. The fabric is on the thinner side, but it smooths everything out. I hope this is helpful.
