They do have a generous fit but the tie up back eliminates that waist gap I get from most pants. I got a 16, in between a 16-18, usually. I could have sized down for a less relaxed look but I’m happy with the fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite pants I absolutely adore these pants. The lace-up detail is so unique and really lets you adjust the waist for a perfect fit. I was worried the tie might come undone during the day, but so far it has stayed right in place. They're great for my casual office job, and so easy to style on the weekends too with some cute booties. I will say the black color has some dark blue in it and is more like a midnight black, but I like that since I have way too many pairs of black pants already.
