Sizzling Hot “Hot Pants”!
Let’s be real. These are hot pants or booty shorts, depending on what generation you grew up in. They are meant to be too short and too fitted! That’s the style. I like when Torrid offers fashion choices to people with plus size bodies that reflect how styles are meant to be worn in standard sizes. There are a lot of us who want the authentic style, but in our size. Not all of us are looking for the style to be modified so much that it misses the mark.
If I were to remove a star for anything, it would be that the model in the black set is probably wearing a size too big, which could be misleading for online shoppers. When I saw the shorts in store, on the hanger, I knew exactly what they were and how they were meant to look.
I usually wear a 2 or a size 18, but I’ve lost a bit of weight recently. The pair in the shop were an online return, so they only had one size, which was size 0!! I was skeptical that they would fit, but they are stretchy, and I wanted them so badly, that I decided to try them on! Surprisingly they fit, but with no room to spare! While they felt fitted, they did not feel uncomfortably tight. The high waisted band is a wider, heavier elastic, so it doesn’t cut in and give you muffin top. I actually felt like there was a bit of a slimmer effect, but that might just be because they are snug on me. The sequins appear to be good quality, laying flat and providing a lovely sparkle! I can’t wait to shake my booty in these blast from the past!

I got these for a steal of a price, which is great because I am obsessed with anything with sequins! I am normally a 00 in pants, but I tried a range of the sizes in these shorts because I wanted them to fit more like shorts. If you want them to fit more like booty shorts/lingerie, or you like walking around with your cheeks out, then get your normal size! I sized up to a 1 to achieve more of a “shorts” look. 2 worked as well, but the waist was slightly big. The color of the teal sequins is beautiful, better than the photos, and they are sewn on. I didn’t have any sequins on the floor after several try ones! The only thing I didn’t like is that the sequins at the seems were messed up and some showed more fabric than others. I also tried on 2 size 1’s and the waist was an inch+ different between two of the exact same sizes! The lining is soft so you don’t get scratched by the sequins.

Super cute!!!
I'm a 3 & just about everything I get fits perfectly. This outfit was no exception-- I loved it! Bought it months ago but just wore it for my birthday trip in Panama City Beach!! The sequins are kinda itchy/ pointy, but I was able to deal with it. I'd still recommend for a cute day/ night out.

These are cute and well made. But they are SHORT. Like cheeks hanging out short. I ordered up one size from my normal and they fit… but I think I’ll try another size up cause they are not for the faint of heart. Maybe I’m just too old. Lol

They are cute but roll up at the bottom they run a bit small and are uncomfortable. I normally purchase multiples of bottoms I like and although I’ll still will wear them I will not purchase again.

I love these in the picture but they are so short and sizing was slightly smaller. They were purchased online and has to return. If a size bigger shows up by chance at my usual store I would definitely give them another try.

Pair of shorts
I wasn’t expecting these to be great, which they are not. I needed them for a bachelorette party. They will not work for it, which does not surprise me. They’re uncomfortable and are not flattering on the stomach. I attempted to return them at a Torrid location and was thrilled to find that unbeknownst to me, if anything is even remotely clearance now, they won’t take it. The previous rule to my knowledge was that only things that explicitly said final sale no returns were nonreturnable. I am now stuck with an horrible uncomfortable set (I bought the top too which is also unflattering and uncomfortable) that I cannot get my money back for nor wear for the purpose I intended. As someone who has been buying from this company for a long time I know when to risk buying things and when not to. Please be cautious of these undisclosed new (rules) that just make it more and more difficult for plus size women to find clothes and or order clothes online comfortably.
