Perfect
I am absolutely in love with this dress! Fabric is light and drapey, feels kind of like a linen cotton blend. Nice tailoring in the bust area, makes it hang nicely.

Dresses are life
I read the reviews on this dress but was very drawn to it so I bought it. Zero regrets and get the most compliments. I even bought it in the taupe color. It sits well on my body. I love I can dress it up or down. I’m 5’6 with a booty and was concerned about the back. It’s long enough to cover all the things but short enough to be breezy and cute.

Great summer dress
Just picked up my order and I must say I love this dress. Material and the way it falls is perfect for hiding my imperfections. Dress it up or down. I’m definitely going to order another! Bonus it has pockets!!

Quite loose fitting
I wanted to love this because a shift dress is usually flattering. Not this one. It runs quite large, so if you were wishing they had this left in a size 2…buy the 1!! It’s very loose everywhere. The arm hole cut low also. I’ll wear it when it is very hot, because it certainly won’t cling to me.

Boxy neckline
Just arrived and sadly it's going back to the store. I can't quite explain it but there is something about the neckline and shoulder area that feels like it is not cut right. Maybe I should have sized down to a 2 (I fluctuate between 2 and 3). This just didn't have the feminine drape that I was looking for it seemed a little like a box

She's flattering, but...
Initially, I was over the moon when I saw Torrid had a shift dress, and I ordered it immediately. It's a flattering dress, to be honest. It looks EXACTLY as it does in the photo. I think it could work on anyone. But how does it stack up to the timeless classic shift dress?
It's... fine. But it relies on size to create the shift silhouette. That means it's too large in my size. And unfortunately, the material is flowy and stretchy for me to go down a size for the right close-figure hug. It would lose its straight seams by conforming to my curves. As a result, it's just lacking in that vintage feel.
For me, a perfect shift dress is all about that very sexy 60s look, that streamlined silhouette close to the body. That Jackie Kennedy vibe. You can't achieve that look in this unless you have an already very boxy figure.
Again, it's a very flattering cut, but it just isn't the right material for my needs. I ended up returning it.
