Chunky!!!
I want to thank Torrid for allowing me to live out my 90s kid chunky shoe life that I never got to as a kid! A, mom wouldn’t let me lol and B, they just didn’t exist right for wide feet (though Payless for the win!). These are comfortable to wear (haven’t worn for long term), bit heavier but aren’t all chunky platforms? The strap for the ankle is smaller on the widest hole than other sandals from here - it fits but just enough so bare that in mind. I have found with Torrid shoes, I size down 1. So I’ve always bought 9, half compensating for width that wasn’t there. But with having true width, 8 it is! But these look like chunky 90s goth fantasticness and I’m so happy!

Mostly a great shoe
Love, love, love these shoes! Absolutely comfortable and can last all day in them. The only part I dislike - the cheaper material on the ankle strap: first time trying them on, the material scratched off on the notches. However, it’s difficult for any of my friends to notice when we’re walking around so it’s not a dealbreaker.
I appreciate how truly wide-width they are - I have Fred Flintstone feet (7W) and still have room to wiggle my toes! I also have thick ankles and was pleasantly surprised to see that these fit comfortably - worn for two days, both many hours… first day, I realized a couple hours in, that I need to wear it on the largest notch so the tightness doesn’t cause irritation (not used to ankle straps, obviously), next time the strap was totally easy! First day, my all-day adventure with friends branched into two spontaneous, light hikes… wouldn’t recommend these without socks for that activity (ouch!). Second day wearing them, I spent hours downtown walking between shops… mostly indoor temperatures, sidewalks instead of grassy hills, and more resting… for sure a shoe that won’t take away energy when you’re in the city!
I also didn’t notice how the first couple of straps across your foot (up the arch) have tiny pieces of elastic on the sides. Easy to move with your motion.
Finally, if you push a finger into the sole, you’ll see that it has some soft give to it so you’re not walking on a hard surface.
Again, easy to buckle and isn’t constricting, can last long on my feet, love the design of chunky flatforms, but am not a huge fan of how the material on the ankle strap is already scrapping off.

I heard the straps around the toes are big and they are kinda but a good fit for me. the first one is big for me but the rest are fine.

Finally Wide Straps!
So yes: the shoes run big in both length and height, BUT if you have feet with a large instep (the top of your foot is tall), these are literally PERFECT! i can never wear un-adjustable strapped sandals due to my instep being the largest most people have ever seen, so these are perfect for me. If you have a large instep, I highly recommend giving them a try! Definitely size down still though; they run large in length as well. I usually order a 9 or 10 in most shoes, and went for a 9 in these, and they're still just a little bit too long; I probably could have gone down at least to an 8.5

Loose bands!
Really wanted to love these sandals because they are very cute and comfy! I ordered in a 10.5, usually an 11 in every other brands but the foot/sole itself fit perfectly but the straps around the toe area are so loose! Zero support when trying to walk around. Foot was sliding all over the place. The ankle fit really well but idk about getting a smaller size because what if the foot is too small? I say try it out in case you have a really thick foot maybe this shoe is great but I’m hesitant to try another size
