Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute Winter Dress I got this dress quite a while ago. I've never seen the show but thought the design was cute. As others have said, the skirt portion is a heavier plaid material with pockets large enough to carry keys, a phone or a small wallet, etc. The little medallion on the skirt hem did fall off during the 1st wash but that wasn't a big deal for me. The top portion of the dress is a softer, more lightweight material which is nice. The cream colored lacing up the front was my only issue with this dress. The color really didn't go with the rest of the dress. I replaced the cream colored lacing with a long brown ribbon that matches the color scheme better and also allows me to adjust the fit of the top just like you would adjust the fit of a corset.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just wonderful. I bought this dress in January. Then I realized I love it so much I bought a second one. I wear dresses daily so it is nice to have doubles that way I can use one for casual wear when I cook and clean and the other for nicer times. I did wash one on the wrong setting accidentally. I do not recommend doing that because it will cause the fabric to pill up. I plan on buying a 3rd one when I can.

I also agree with some of the other reviews, the cream grosgrain ribbon just doesn't go. I'll be changing mine out for a grey cord. There is something odd about such a heavy dress being made with short sleeves. But I guess it'll work well in fall or spring with a cardigan maybe. And perfect for a chilly/rainy Ren Fest day. There is a cute little thistle medallion on the left side of the skirt by the hem.

Will wear with the Outlander jewelry already bought from Torrid, and hoping to find the boots in my size! Love that Torrid creates clothing from our favorite shows! No one else does that!! I read all the reviews, kept the cream laces, was glad to find the top part is a gorgeous dark green, not black! The neckline is perfect (not too low) just enough to fit the historical times! Torrid clothes can be worn for regular events, or themed events- depending on what you are interested in! After all clothes should be fun! My 0 perfect - my usual size.

The skirt part is heavier weight which is great during the winter. I threw on a cardigan to complement the outfit and add warmth to my arms. I can’t wait to wear it again.
