Amazing Retro Dress
I ordered this dress not knowing it was a gold foil sparrow throughout the fabric. BONUS!!!. Amazing . The fit is fabulous. I love the lining the tulle underneath gives this dress with a pop of flare for the retro look. This gives you a look of a smaller waist! The flare of the dress is more, than it shows on the model. The skirt is very full. I am so pleased with the quality of fabric they used. The weight of the fabric is high end. I can't wait to show it off at my local Torrid.

Very beautiful, but runs a bit...
Love the detail on the sparrows. The length is very retro chic. POCKETS!!! The dress is beyond gorgeous—but!—it’s with the unfortunate side effect of running a bit looser than all my other Torrid “Retro” dresses. Size down if you can (I’m already at the smallest dress size and tailoring is gonna be a must on my bust and waist).

Stunning, but runs big
I ordered this dress on a whim because I've loved my other Torrid dresses in similar styles. I am faithfully a Torrid 2 or Size 20, so I ordered this in a 20, but it's not as tight in the bodice as I would have expected, and I wear a 42DD, so things are not usually loose in the bodice! Because it fits just right around the waist, I'm probably just going to have it taken in a bit instead of ordering a size down, but if you are smaller up top or are between sizes, I definitely recommend ordering a size down from what you normally are. The back is smocked, so it will give you a little bit of leeway there, and there's a side zipper to help you get in. (I didn't even have to unzip it to get into mine.) I know us plus size girls are scared of ordering a size down, but I think you'll be glad you did.
Other than that, this dress is absolutely breathtaking. It's comfortable to wear, the crinoline underneath the skirt makes it fuller than what it looks like on the model, and the pockets are deep. I can put my hand in halfway up to my elbow. I think you could probably carry a small paperback book in those pockets, no problem. The neckline is flattering and the wide straps are comfortable. The little birds are shiny gold foil, so this dress absolutely shimmers in party lights. I want them to make this dress in about ten more patterns/prints so I can buy all of them.

Beautiful but....
Im in between a 1 and a 2. In the past Retro Chic has fitted small on me so I bought this in a 20...It was terribly big! Returned it to the store..I ordered an 18...still big! gaping under my arms, which means another trip back to return. I ordered it now in a 16 and hoping it'll fit, hasn't shipped out to me yet. I really want this dress. But you may have to size down as I've experienced. It's a beautiful dress otherwise!

I received this dress in the mail today and tried it on right away. I usually order a size 1 or dress size 14. It fit pretty well but I would’ve preferred just a tiny bit tighter. If I were to size down it definitely would be too small. The sparrows are gorgeous and foiled gold, though, I worry that after a few washes they might fade. Not sure but like I said, gorgeous. Love the button and “collar” details at the top. AND IT HAS POCKETS!!! Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets. The fabric is fairly structured which I think is a plus for this style. Layers and tulle under the skirt to make it poof out slightly which is lovely. Finally I feel like the waistline should be 1-3 inches lower. Feels a little high for this style.
