Loved it the minute I saw it, had to have it, and took advantage of my Torrid cash. I'm like 5ft. nothing and depending on the style, cut, and fabric I usually go with a size 1 or 2. After reading the reviews and how it looked on the model I decided on my usual size 1 and it fits perfect. In bare feet it hits right below my knee and if I add a crinoline skirt too it, it will add volume and lift the skirt. I love the light weight cotton base bottom that will help in keeping cool in the summer months and I really like that the top is a stretchy soft material that hugs to the body, not letting any slippage in the back happen. I didn't have a real problem with the crisscross neckline, but I usually partially tie it, then slightly loosen it if needed then tighten. I tried it with my Torrid strapless bra and you can't see any of it in the key hole, which is what I was most skeptical about, but no problem there. The pockets are a must and I always appreciate them. Love the orange pattern, love it on the green background and think it would've also worked with a navy. Now my package was lost and I have to high light that Torrid's customer service was spectacular since I called late on a Thursday night and they were able to resolve the issue and I had the dress by Saturday afternoon. If it hadn't been found I think it would've been easy to get a refund or the dress itself and I must say it was nice that you could talk to a real person. Overall a frustrating start to relief in the end and a happy customer.

Buy the dress
This dress is perfect for spring. Summer and or vacations. I just wanted to put it out there that you don’t have to have it as a chokehold. You can cris cross it like the picture and tie it. Or you can just tie it in the back without crossing in the back. I wasn’t wearing a bra that’s why I’m holding my hand like that.

Love it
I knew I had to have this dress as soon as I seen it. I love it even with the chokehold lol.
Like others have said yes it’s a tight neck and it’ll take time to get used to that but worth it.
The top is a high stretch material.
I think if this would have came with a belt it would give it even more.

Cute dress
Love the vibrant green. Wish the fabric was a little less I need ironing. Nice that it’s a halter as you don’t see that as much.

How do you tie/wear it?
I really wanted to like this dress. I love the vintage look and the pattern but the top was a questionable issue! How do I tie it? How do I cross it and not feel like I am choking myself? How do I make it look like the model on the website? The answer to all of these questions is…you don’t. It just didn’t work.

Choke ... pass...
I love this dress but the choke hold it gives is a no go. I am sad the halters are all choke collars now for this collection. I love the lemons though...

Cute on the model
Love how this dress looks on the model but when I tried it on I was disappointed.
I’m not a tall person 5’2” the bodice ended just below my chest and fit more like an empire waist which made the skirt part flair out making me look much much larger than I am. Definitely very unflattering.

Oof
I love the concept of this dress, and the model looks stunning in it. The print and colors on the skirt are lovely.
That’s where the good parts end, at least for me. The dress does not seem to be a good fit for a long torso. The skirt starts above my navel and creates a really unflattering line. I think that having a larger bust creates too much weight for the tie neck, and while I didn’t necessarily feel like I was being choked, I wonder if the reviewers experiencing that also have large chests. The skirt is floppy, unstructured, and unflattering (although a crinoline could probably help with that). The fabric used for the skirt is cheap and wrinkles easily. I think the design could benefit greatly from the use of a thicker fabric that drapes nicely. I’m at the point where I won’t shop from Torrid unless the item is heavily discounted, as the gulf between price and quality is just too large on a lot of their products.

UNFLATTERING, LOW QUALITY
By how the dress looked on the model, I thought there was no way this wouldn't be cute. I was very wrong! As some other comments have mentioned, the tank top part is very cropped and ended up making this look like a VERY unflattering empire waist. Which always makes me feel like I look pregnant. I'm bummed out. On top of that, the quality was terrible. The skirt is super thin, feels like pajama pants, wrinkles galore. This dress had SO much potential if it weren't slapped together like a SHEIN dress and designed with thought and intention like Torrid used to be :( :( :(
