Finding a Comfortable Plus Size Fit
A relaxed layer should still fit intentionally. We design for plus size proportions, but the best size depends on the shape of the garment, the fabric’s stretch, and how much room you prefer over the layers beneath it.
Start with your bust, waist, and hip measurements and compare them with our plus size clothing size guide. For a robe, test the fit while it is tied: the front panels should overlap comfortably when you stand, sit, and walk, without pulling across the bust, upper back, hips, or upper arms. The belt should settle where it feels natural on your body rather than riding up or digging in.
For a sleep cardigan, check the shoulder seams, sleeve circumference, and how the open front falls over your sleepwear. You want enough ease to reach for a mug, curl up on the sofa, or move through your morning routine without the garment catching or feeling restrictive. Longer styles should give you your preferred amount of leg coverage without becoming cumbersome at the stairs or around the house.
Use this quick try-on check:
- Put the layer on over the sleepwear or lounge clothes you expect to wear most often.
- Lift both arms, bend at the elbows, and reach forward to make sure the shoulders and sleeves move comfortably.
- If it is a robe, tie it at your natural waist and sit down to check the front overlap.
- Walk a few steps to confirm the hem does not feel overly long or tangled around your legs.
- Review the product description for garment length, stretch, intended fit, and care details before deciding.
Our How We Fit approach begins with fuller figures, so we consider the bust, shoulders, waist, hips, and upper arms instead of simply enlarging a smaller pattern.
